Dichroic glass is a specialty art glass that is fused (melted) together and usually has clear glass fused on top of it. Dichroic glass was originally created for the space and laser industries, and was developed extensively by NASA. The word dichroic means "two colors" because of the two or more colors that the glass reflects and transmits. The colors are almost holographic in appearance. Dichroic glass is fused around 1550 degrees fahrenheit in a kiln.
Dichroic glass is an art glass that is very durable and vibrant. My pendants are made by slowly heating and cooling glass, and holding the temp at different stages in the firing process.
The bails on my pendants are sterling silver plated.
